Step 1: Crush a bag of sour cream and onion chips as fine as you can get them. Add the Parmesan cheese and mix well. Step 2: Combine the eggs with onion powder, salt and pepper. Pat down the chicken as dry as you can get it, then dunk it in the egg mixture, and toss them in the bag of crushed chips and cheese. Step 3: Once the chicken is fully coated with the crushed chips, place them in an air fryer tray and spray with cooking oil on both sides, then cook at 400 degrees F for 6 minutes per side. Step 4 (DIPPING SAUCE): Melt the butter on a medium skillet then add the onions. Cook for about 3 minutes or just until the onions start to soften, then add the sugar and continue to cook on medium low until the onions get a dark, caramelized color. Step 5: Combine the caramelized onions with the sour cream, garlic salt and pepper, and buttermilk.
