What you need

pepper

cup salted butter

cup dry white wine
tbsp beef bouillon

tbsp table sugar

tsp fresh thyme

cup gruyere

french bread

cup onion

clove garlic clove
Instructions
Step 1: Melt the butter on a medium pan and add the onions. Continue to cook for about 5 minutes or just until they start to soften. Add the thyme, garlic, salt, pepper and sugar and continue to cook until a darker brown color forms. Step 2: Add the better than bouillon, and white wine and continue to cook until a dark brown color forms. Step 3: Slice the bread in half and add the onion mixture onto each piece. In a separate bowl, combine the 3 cheeses and then add it on top of the onion mixture. Bake at 425 degrees F for 15-20 minutes, or just until the cheese is melted, bubbly and browned. Garnish with the remaining fresh thyme.View original recipe
