This recipe creates delicious stuffed biscuits using a creamy ham and cheese sauce frozen into ice cubes, wrapped in flattened biscuits with Gruyère, and air-fried until golden and gooey.
Start by melting 1/2 cup of salted butter and combining it with 1/2 cup of all-purpose flour. After a few minutes, when the flour and butter are combined, add 1 cup of milk and mix it all together. Add 1/2 cup of grated Swiss cheese, 1 tablespoon of Dijon mustard, 1 teaspoon of nutmeg, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Mix well. Add some of this sauce to an ice cube tray, then sprinkle on some more grated Swiss cheese into each slot. On top of the cheese, add some chopped smoked ham, and then add even more sauce. Place the ice cube tray in the freezer for at least 30 minutes. In the meantime, prep the biscuits: using some pre-made biscuits (or your favorite recipe), sprinkle on some grated Gruyère cheese and flatten out each biscuit. Add one of the frozen ham and cheese ice cubes on top of each biscuit and pinch the biscuit close before rolling them into a ball. Place them in an air fryer and cook at 400 degrees F for 10 minutes.
