The Ultimate French Toast Breakfast Loaf. A hearty breakfast dish featuring a large Italian loaf soaked in an egg mixture, pan-fried, then topped with a savory scramble of eggs, green onions, sausage, bacon, and cheese, broiled to perfection, and finished with a sweet and spicy maple hot sauce.

What you need

cup breakfast sausage

cup bacon

tbsp unsalted butter

cup hot sauce

cup maple syrup

italian loaf

cup buttermilk

cup green onion
cup colby jack

cup seasoning mix
Instructions
Step 1: Combine 5 eggs, buttermilk, and seasoning in a bowl. Slice the Italian loaf in half and submerge it in the egg mixture. Step 2: Pan-fry the soaked loaf halves on each side for 3 minutes and set aside on a baking tray. Step 3: Combine the remaining 4 eggs in a bowl with green onions, sausage, bacon, half of the grated cheese, and season with salt and pepper. Step 4: Add the egg mixture to a medium-high frying pan with melted butter and cook for a few minutes, or just until the eggs have started to firm but are still moist. Step 5: Equally divide the cooked egg mixture amongst the top of each French toast half, then cover with the remaining grated cheese. Step 6: Cook in the oven on broil just until the cheese melts.
